What's been done

Two terms working for Uxbridge. Here's some of what got done.

Current term · 2022–present

Regional Councillor & Deputy Mayor

I was elected Regional Councillor in October 2022 and appointed Deputy Mayor in January 2026. I serve Uxbridge across six committee and board roles locally, at Durham Region, and on conservation authorities.

Vice-Chair, Durham Region Transit Executive Committee

Championed the launch of Route 605 connecting south Uxbridge shopping areas, expanded on-demand transit service across the township, and increased the number of on-demand vehicles to reduce wait times. Monthly ridership reporting is now in place to hold the service accountable. The result? In 2025 ridership increased 24% to a record 58,000 passenger trips.

Vice-Chair, Durham Region Finance and Administration Committee

Nearly 60% of property taxes go to the Region. My goal has always been to maximize the return on that investment. This is reflected in record investment in our roads, increased police presence, expanded social services, and improved local transit options.

Durham Region Council Representative on 911 Management Board

Uxbridge residents made over 6,000 calls to 911 in 2025. As the sole representative of Durham Region Council on the management board, I’m part of the team ensuring we have the best technology, training, and support to compassionately respond to callers on their most difficult days.

Conservation Authority Leadership

Uxbridge currently sits in four conservation authorities. As Vice-Chair of the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA), I work to protect the Oak Ridges Moraine and ensure strong local representation during the provincially mandated conservation authority consolidation. The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) covers the vast majority of our township. This term, Uxbridge won two LSRCA awards: the Healthy Water Award for reducing phosphorus flow into Lake Simcoe, and the Healthy Community Award for the Rotary Club’s mini-forest, where 600 native species were planted right here in town.

Chair, Uxbridge Council Administration and Special Projects Committee

This committee oversees strategic initiatives and administrative matters related to local Uxbridge projects. My primary local project is the new Uxbridge–Scugog animal shelter, which will be substantially complete by Q4 2026.

First term · 2018–2022

Ward 3 Councillor

Elected in 2018 as Ward 3 Councillor and appointed Chair of Finance. The focus was on improving neighbourhood safety by reducing speed limits, adding four-way stops, adding a traffic light, rebuilding roads, and eliminating vandalism at Herrema Park.

Served as Alternate Member of Regional Council, learning first-hand how much of what affects daily life in Uxbridge is actually decided at the regional level; services like policing, transit, EMS, water, roads, social services, public health and waste management. That experience shaped the decision to run for Regional Councillor in 2022.
